Why
not spend the day cruising on a canal aboard one of a number of
self drive day boats or crewed day boat hire?
Day hire narrowboats are usually fully fitted with galley, 2 burner cooker
with grill and oven, fridge, stainless steel sink, spacious seating area with
table and fully equipped for up to 12 people.
Do not fear many have proper flush
toilets too.
All you need to bring is your food, drink and a camera.
Cruising times are between normally 09.00 and 17.00 or dusk if earlier.
Most day boat hire companies require a non refundable deposit
to secure the booking, the balance being paid within 30 days prior to the date
of the hire which is also non refundable.
A security/damage deposit may be required
on the day of hire refundable on return of the boat in good condition and on
time.

Most companies allow only mixed parties, with the driver / organiser
being over 25.
Usually a skipper can be supplied for weekends and bank holidays.
Some hire companies also
do evening cruises, please ask operators for details.
