Anderton Boat Lift on the Trent & Mersey Canal / River Weaver Navigation, Cheshire

Steam Boat President and Butty Kildare were seen by us on the Trent and Mersey Canal heading back to the Black Country Museum, Tipton Road, Dudley near Birmingham in the West Midlands, in early September 2007 whilst on a circular cruise to "Shackerstone In Steam" at the Shackerstone Steam Rally at the Battlefield Line Steam Railway, Shackerstone, Leicestershire, on the Ashby-de-la-Zouch Canal.

We negotiated Foxton Locks in early May 2008 as part of our summer cruise to London from Penkridge on the Staffs and Worcs Canal , Surprisingly we managed to ascend seventy five feet through the ten Foxton Locks in less than an hour.

The Thomas Telford designed Stretton Aqueduct over the A5(T), Watling Street (Roman Road) on the Shropshire Union Canal about a mile north of Brewood
